Towbar Installation
With such a broad range of towing products on the market, it’s vital to choose the right tow bars and accessories for your vehicle and towing loads. There are three general varieties of towbars that you can fit to your 4×4, ute or car – light duty, medium duty and heavy duty – with the vehicle type and the loads towed determining the type of tow bar you should purchase.
Light Duty (class 2) Towbars
Our Class 2 light duty towbar is typically rated up to 1200 kg and is a well engineered solution for light towing and mounting bike racks.
Like all Hayman Reese towbars, our Class 2 towbar is designed for easy installation and the utmost reliability.
Medium Duty (class 3) Towbars
Our medium duty towbars are typically rated up to 1600 kg and feature a 40 mm x 40 mm square hitch receiver with a removable Trailer Ball Mount. When you are not towing, simply remove the retaining clip and hitch pin and the Trailer Ball Mount slides straight out.
Heavy Duty (class 4) Towbars
Our class 4 heavy duty towbar is the industry benchmark featuring the famous 50 x 50 mm square hitch receiver. Typically rated to the vehicle’s maximum towing capacity, heavy duty towbars are a must have for towing caravans, boats, horse floats or even the professional tradesman.
Our range of heavy duty towbars also a feature a removable Trailer Ball Mount. When you are not towing, simply remove the retaining clip & hitch pin, and the Trailer Ball Mount slides straight out.
The 50 x 50 mm square hitch receiver is also compatible with our entire range of Weight Distribution kits offering improved safety, handling, control and comfort when towing heavy loads.
We also offer a complete range of towing accessories including; adjustable Trailer Ball Mounts, drop-shanks, Trailer Ball Mount storage bags, lockable hitch pins, and even bike racks that bolt straight on.

Hitch ‘N’ Go
Hitch ‘N’ Go towing A- Frames are engineer certified to comply with applicable requirements of ADR62/01 throughout Australia. The maximum towing capacity is 1900kg.
A standard 50mm trailer coupling is utilised to connect to the towing vehicle. The unit is supplied with an electrical plug to suit your motor-home, a harness to the towed vehicle and another plug and base (to disconnect at the grille or bumper), complete with extra cable to wire your towed vehicles lights.
We can supply mount kits to suit 30 different vehicles. A-Frames are available in two formats:
Braked:
Suitable for towing vehicles with a tare weight of over 750kg. These popularly include Suzuki SX4, Vitara, Grand Vitara, Daihatsu Terios, Hyundai Getz, and many others. This A-Frame is a modification of the basic unit and utilises a mechanical override trailer coupling (as on some caravans or boat trailers). The brakes operate via a cable which is connected to the brake pedal.
Unbraked:
There are a small number of vehicles on the market with a tare (or Kerb) weight of less than 750kgs suitable for towing where brakes are not required. EG: Diahatsu Charade,
