What’s involved in a logbook service?
During a logbook service at Hervey Bay Brake and Exhaust, we will perform a safety inspection of the brakes and ensure all of your pedals work as they should.
Our team will conduct a vehicle inspection report where all parts of the body of the car as well as its internal features are looked at and tested to ensure that they are not damaged and function as they should.
All oils, fluids, and coolant levels will be checked and topped up if they are low. Tyre depth, rotation, and overall condition will be tested for optimum function. We may need to clean or replace your air, fuel, or oil filters if they are dirty.
We also ensure all of the lightbulbs in the car, including headlights, taillights, indicators, and brake lights.
We want to ensure that your car runs safely and economically so that you can avoid any problems in the future. If we find any issues or have to fit new parts, we will let you know and keep you updated about exactly what we are doing so that you are not left in the dark throughout the process.
There may be extra costs or appointments that have to be made if we need to perform repairs or replacements, but we strive to make this as convenient and affordable as possible for you so that you can get back on the road.
We will follow the manufacturer’s guidelines at all times, using approved parts, so you can be sure that your car is getting the best possible service and will still be valid under your warranty.
Why is a logbook service important?
A logbook service is essential to ensure that your car is being tested under the guidelines set out by the manufacturer.
It must be carried out by a licensed mechanic and follow the manufacturer’s logbook, performed at the intervals set out in the logbook. This not only ensures your vehicle is operating as safely and efficiently as possible but also ensures the quality of your car is maintained.
Although many logbook services will be similar and feature many of the same tests, it is essential that your car’s specific logbook procedures are followed or it may not be comprehensive and the warranty of your car could be at risk.
This is what makes it different from a standard major or minor service.
